Individual Therapy

60-min. sessions customized for your personal goals

Individual therapy gives you dedicated space to untangle thoughts, explore emotions, and process experiences that can feel overwhelming to face alone. Whether you’re working through trauma, spiritual harm, identity questions, anxiety, or a season of transition, we walk with you at your pace.

Teen & Adolescent Therapy

60- min. sessions supporting both teens and parents

Teen therapy creates a grounded, judgment-free space for adolescents to share openly, explore identity, and develop emotional skills. Goals are created collaboratively with the teen and the parent.

Couples Therapy

90-min. sessions to strengthen understanding, connection, and repair

Couples therapy supports partners who want to work through challenges together, with room for both shared goals and individual experiences. Philoxenia’s guided sessions for couples can help rebuild connection, communicate clearly, repair hurts, and navigate differences.

Religious trauma therapy offers a grounded, compassionate space to process harm caused by faith-based environments. This work supports healing from spiritual abuse, church hurt, damaging belief systems, and identity-related wounds—while centering your agency and lived experience.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

  • No, I am entirely private pay and I do not take insurance at this time. However, you can submit your therapy superbill to your insurance company for reimbursement.

  • Both! I offer therapy both in person in Phoenix and virtually anywhere in Arizona.

  • Individual therapy is 60 minutes for $175. Couples therapy is 90 minutes for $275.

  • That can vary depending on what you want to work on and how long it can take to meet

    your goals. On average, I see clients for about 8 to 12 sessions, but often longer.

  • Your first session is an opportunity for both of us to ensure we’re a good fit. As your potential therapist, I’ll ask you various questions to better understand you and what brought you in to therapy. This is also an opportunity for you as the client to ask questions of me as your therapist as well.

  • You can schedule a consultation with me here. I look forward to learning more about you!

  • During onboarding, I prefer to get an understanding of your experiences as generally as possible to avoid overwhelming and re-traumatizing the client. That being said, your safety and comfort are of the utmost importance to me and I will go at whatever pace is most comfortable for you.

  • Yes, I have years of experience with those harmed by churches, purity culture, coercive leaders, and anti-LGBTQ theology. I do my best to meet my clients where they are, no matter what stage they are in their journey. Here, I can offer you safety from judgement so that you can navigate your trauma as supported as possible.

  • I operate on a policy of spiritual neutrality— meaning I will neither pressure someone to stay in their faith nor push them to leave. I believe in honoring your pace, beliefs, and autonomy. I’m here to help you navigate this journey, not to determine the destination.

  • Yes. I have a personal history as a member of the church and understand the basics of church dynamics, as well as training around the effects of purity culture, spiritual gaslighting, excommunication, high-control churches, fear-based theology, queer identity suppression and spiritual abuse trauma.

  • Yes. I use a mix of emotionally focused therapy (EFT/EFIT)and eye movement descensitization and reprocessing (EDMR). Emotionally focused therapy has positive outcomes in both couples and individual therapy for depression and anxiety. EMDR is a well researched and effective treatment for PTSD and Complex PTSD that those who have experienced spiritual harm.

  • Yes. I celebrate and understand your identity and do not believe it is a barrier to faith.

  • The integration of faith in your sessions is entirely up to you. During the first session we can determine if and when it feels comfortable and to what extent is therapeutically appropriate.
