A Therapy Practice Where Your Truest Self Is Always Welcome

The Greek word Philoxenia means hospitality, or offering love to strangers. That intention shapes the care we provide. Here, we offer relational, evidence-based counseling that integrates warmth, empathy, and radical compassion. Because connection, we believe, is what makes room for healing.

You might be here because Something no longer fits…

…a relationship, a belief system, a version of yourself you were told to be. Maybe you’re carrying anxiety that won’t quiet, grief that doesn’t make sense, or trauma that still lives in your body. If you’ve been hurt by relationships, faith, or systems that were supposed to protect you, it can feel exhausting to explain yourself just to be understood. Here, you don’t have to. At Philoxenia, therapy begins with listening — deeply, carefully, and without judgment. You’re invited to show up with the parts of you that feel messy, uncertain, guarded, or tired. Healing doesn’t require you to be “fixed” first. It starts with being met exactly where you are.

You don’t have to carry this Alone.

When safety has been disrupted — by trauma, spiritual harm, relational wounds, or life’s heaviest moments — your nervous system adapts to survive. Therapy offers a place to slow down, make sense of those adaptations, and gently restore a sense of steadiness and connection.

There is a way forward. And it doesn’t involve rushing, minimizing your pain, or pushing you toward answers that don’t feel true. Healing can be thoughtful, collaborative, and grounded in respect for your autonomy.

Hi, I’m Lindsay.

A smiling woman with dark hair pulled back, wearing gold hoop earrings and a black sleeveless top, sitting against a plain white wall.

I’m a licensed therapist specializing in attachment-centered, trauma-informed therapy for individuals and couples. My work is rooted in Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT/EFIT), EMDR, and somatic awareness — approaches that are both evidence-based and deeply human.

I bring years of clinical training alongside lived understanding of faith systems, church dynamics, and the complex impact of spiritual abuse, purity culture, and identity harm. I work with clients navigating anxiety, depression, PTSD and complex trauma, relationship wounds, faith transitions, and LGBTQIA+ concerns with care that is affirming, attuned, and never agenda-driven.

My goal isn’t to tell you who to be, what to believe, or where your healing should lead. It’s to create a space where your story is honored and your next steps are chosen by you.

What it’s like to work together

Therapy at Philoxenia is relational, collaborative, and paced to your needs.

We begin by building safety and trust — understanding your emotional world, attachment patterns, and how your past may be shaping your present. From there, we create a personalized treatment plan together, grounded in evidence-based care and clear goals that make sense for your life.

As the work deepens, therapy becomes a place to process trauma, reshape relational patterns, and expand your capacity for connection — with yourself and with others. Every session builds intentionally on the one before it, always with your consent and comfort guiding the process.

This is not one-size-fits-all therapy. It’s care shaped around you.

We also ensure client confidentiality at all times, following HIPAA and ethical guidelines. Plus, we do our best to maintain predictable routines and boundaries to support a sense of security.
